Has anyone tried Conky sys monitor ?

I was looking for a fix for i8k and the missing i8k module / not being able to force load i8k.

Then stumbled onto this.

Looks nice enough.

Yes, conky looks good, doesn't it? There's another thread about it here, if you're interested (wolfden has got it working on his PC):

There's a great thread at ubuntuforums.org where folks have posted a screenshot and a copy of their .conkyrc files.

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php? ... your+conky

Of course, simply copying and pasting a random .conkrc into your own ~/.conkyrc isn't guaranteed to produce the same affect as the accompanying screenshot. This is due to the fact that many of those who have posted theirs have it taylored specifically to their system. You may need to add comparable applications/scripts/etc. to your system before things work exactly like in the screenshot.

Don't let this discourage you though. The .conkyrc recipe file is fairly easily deciphered -- so get in there and figure it out!!
