some of the ones i was kinda hoping to hear about was the start bar replacement that makes it like an icon bar that gets magnified under the mouse courser and of course if anyone has gotten compiz-fusion up and working

try kooldock for the icon bar you are talking about.

Kooldock looks great but very soon gets annoying!

for docks, there's a variety:
kooldock
ksmoothdock
kxdocker
engage (you need to add enlightenment overlay)
gdesklet-sidebar (needs gnome libraries)
kiba-dock
gnome-dock
avant-window-navigator

the one that worked fine for me with the least amount of trouble is kxdocker, but it needed some tweaking.

Well, off the top of my head, I don't remember too many such things, but here's what I'm using on my computer:

Beryl (0.2.0) as my Window Manager...

Emerald theme manager with current selection as Blackmac (http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/bl ... tent=61400)

KDE Style (or whatever you call it) as Domino 0.4 (available at: http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Do ... tent=42804)

I'm using THIS wallpaper (http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/st ... tent=35826)

and also I have a LOAD of tweaks configured on my comp (custom settings for animations, custom textures for the skydomes, cubecaps etc) and a BUCKETLOAD of other stuff, but I can't remember the rest right now.

This should be MORE than enough to get you started! Cheers!

i really like that emerald theme, heres a quick question has anyone tried to install compiz-fusion??

i tried to fallow the directions on the gentoo-xeffects site http://www.gentoo-xeffects.org

but in doing so i ended up messing up my beryl n emerald so now i dont have either, i get a compile error about half way through the emerge but i get this error doing the ./configure part of the stage

checking for BCOP... configure: error: Package requirements (bcop >= 0.1.1) were not met:

Requested 'bcop >= 0.1.1' but version of bcop is 0.1.0
....which i know relize is a easy fix *sighs* the smallest things can seem so complicated when your high*sigh*

anyways ill keep you guys posted when i get it to work!

i really like the ideas you guys have been showing me , ksmoothdock is really nice i wish i know how to change the red all over the place cause it dosent really go with what i have in mind for my desktop theme,im trying to go for a blueish theme with dark blue fonts ...but i dont know how to change my desktop font color!...at least i havent figured it out yet

try the guide in the wiki, it is pretty detailed. just search "compiz-fusion" in the wiki part of the website and you should be good to go.
