USE flags generator

Postby navman » Fri Jun 29, 2007 23:41

I know that equary uses =<packagename> will give the flags for a package and that ufed will edit make.conf USE flags but is there a utility or a bash script that can quarry all packages on your system and generate a recommended USE flag list

Would also like to know this might find it in the gentoo installer see below.

Would be nice if you can also run a script to properly build a .config kernel compile file that is hardware specific similar to kudzu instead of the greek "make xconfig / make menuconfig"

The USE thingy :
I have seen gentoo live "bugs" 2007.0 cd / dvd has a script in the installer that describes the USE flags and you can select it , once this is finished it ends up in make.conf but at least this way you know what not to select or 64bit = no good on 32bit and it tells you what it is for and does.

I can do a emerge -uvDaN world and manually set all the flags that way, but what a lot of pain.
