New ATI drivers 8.38.6 - too late for 3.4 final?? [SOLVED]

Postby Darksurf » Tue Jun 26, 2007 17:33

New ATI drivers have come out.
ati-driver-8.38.6 have become available since June 25. Is it too late to get this as a default for Sabayon 3.4 final?? There have been some nice fixes to the drivers themselves as well as the catalyst.

P.S. Can we get this in the overlay soon?? Sorry, I don't mean to sound so demanding. I depend heavily on ATI. Its all I have. I have 2 computers all ATI, my lappy with X200M, and the computer I'm building with 256mb ATI X300 overclocked diamond edition.

Thanx for the drivers, but I have to ask.... Where is the cataylst???

I know the catalyst should come with these drivers. Is the ebuild incorrectly configured??

yeah, its the icon on the desktop that leads to the configure app that uses a GUI.

ATI Catalyst is basically the control center for the videocard settings.

yeah, I know that. That is the app with the name amdcccle a.k.a. AMD Control Center a.k.a. ATI Catalyst. I used to be able to run amdcccle in a terminal and it would run, but when I emerge the new ati-drivers 8.38.6 I don't get that file anywhere. I even used kuroo to look up if it installed that file or not. Its not installed. Its not even listed. I think there's something wrong with the ebuild.

It gave me the driver but not the control center.
