Firefox, Thunderbird and sub-menu problems with HDD install

Postby jimbob » Sun Jun 17, 2007 22:57

Newbie using Sabayon mini install to HDD from CD. The function bars (File Edit ... Tools Help) are not active in both Firefox and Thunderbird. Clicking on any of those functions shows no sub-menus at all.

Also, clicking on Kmenu icon at lower left corner will not give sub-menu most of the time. If I right click and then left click again several times it eventually comes up.

did you check the md5sum of the iso before install?

you can always try reinstalling the problematic programs

for firefox and thunderbird
emerge mozilla-firefox mozilla-thunderbird

for the kicker
USE="-kdeinvisibility" emerge kicker && exit && dcop kicker kicker restart

I downloaded, checked md5sum and re-installed and still the same problem.

Well it turns out it is caused by my selecting the left-handed mouse in KDE which is what I normally do because I have carpel tunnel problems. When I go back and change to the right handed mouse everything works normally. This is 100% repeatable. Is this worthy of a bug report?
