Sabayon-x86 3.3b minicd problem

Postby lord sloth » Sat Jun 09, 2007 2:43

Hi, i recently downloaded Sabayon-x86 3.3b minicd. i want to go into the live cd but i cant, i dont know whats wrong. ill explain step by step what i did:

1.i burned the image into a cd-rw using nero 7, clone cd, and infra recorder * i thought it was the cd burning program so i tried several ones*

2.boot from the cd i got the sabayon menu, the one with the little paw on the top and has the help, install, screen & language settings and what not.

3. i select the first one, then it says "opening live cd" something something.... and it shows a loading bar at the bottom.

4. then it says "booting from cd" and the loading bar starts advancing. once it gets to about 70 percent BOOM this pops up

Image

after this i have to reboot and it loads nothing. another thing it does is that it gets stuck on the loading part and then this little brick appears and i can move it with my mouse pointer and it starts deleting the picture and loading bar as i highlight everything.

Image

this is the little brick, i already deleted the whole page when i highlighted stuff...... please help.

things ive tried already:
-downloaded the same file twice from different servers
-used 3 different cd-rw
-used 3 different burning programs

to check if the CD is or not correct use Md5sum programs
the output is a string of characters and numbers and if is the same that we could find on the sabayon site you can be sure that the cd is correct!

I dont know why, I had a similar problem on an older computer, but tried it on a very recent laptop and worked fine.

Is your computer (hopelessly) outdated?
