Ok, finally got to order my new system, MSI k9 Paltinum SLI mobo, 3800+ X2 64, Geforce 7600Gt, and 1 GB of PC6400 Ram. $550.00 between mwave and neweggg.

So what would be the recommend install of sabayon linux?

550? damn! wish my system costed that little way back when

You'll just want the rr64 dvd version and boot with smp, then all will be configured for that

my concerns with the 64 bit -- are the web plugins working with it? I need webpages to be be able to load video/flash/java type content. I was told the other day that 64 bit is too unsupported for that kinda stuff.

wolfden, this is why one uses firefox-bin in 64bit as its fully supported with java, quicktime, flash, etc etc. If you want native 64 firefox, then just do firefox, but firefox-bin is its 32bit partner. It'll play anything you want

Too right i paid about $2000 in the end for mine!
And I still haven't got it working properly.

Sweet, parts should all be here tomorrow - not sure when I will get time to build it. I might have to wait till first week in August when I am on vacation.

When you're on a tight budget like me, you have to watch and catch the sales.
