Ok, finally got to order my new system, MSI k9 Paltinum SLI mobo, 3800+ X2 64, Geforce 7600Gt, and 1 GB of PC6400 Ram. $550.00 between mwave and neweggg.

So what would be the recommend install of sabayon linux?

my concerns with the 64 bit -- are the web plugins working with it? I need webpages to be be able to load video/flash/java type content. I was told the other day that 64 bit is too unsupported for that kinda stuff.

wolfden, this is why one uses firefox-bin in 64bit as its fully supported with java, quicktime, flash, etc etc. If you want native 64 firefox, then just do firefox, but firefox-bin is its 32bit partner. It'll play anything you want :D

Sweet, parts should all be here tomorrow - not sure when I will get time to build it. I might have to wait till first week in August when I am on vacation.

When you're on a tight budget like me, you have to watch and catch the sales.
