Is anybody here successfully using Turboprint with Sabayon? I used TP with both Mepis and PCLOS until I settled on Sabayon as my distro of choice. It's a great app if you have a printer, like my 2 Canon inkjets, that are poorly supported under Linux.
The problem I'm having is that TP doesn't seem to see my laptop's USB port under Sabayon. It's just not given as an option when I try to configure my printers.
All help welcomed!

Well, that's good to know. Do you recall how you installed it. They have a .deb package, an rpm, and a tarball. I assumed I needed to use the tarball, right?

Well, I've been using Turboprint for a long time. Which version are you using, 32 bit or 64 bit. If you have a 64 bit box, then turboprint needs to use the 64 bit version. Not sure if that has anything to do with your problem, however. I did have a problem once where turboprint would not find the usb port. A little more info might help. I don't use it with a laptop, but it is set to local printer (for me) and I have
usb://Canon/i560. Maybe try that in the xtpsetup. Sorry I probably haven't helped much.
