First of all great distro. I've always had windows and for the past year ran Ubuntu, but i think i'll totally switch
I had Beryl running from the LiveDVD (3.3) fine. I fell in love with Beryl straight away. After installing sabayon 3.3, Beryl worked until i restarted. I had tried to install vmware and tinker with the Beryl settings a bit. I didn't know if i screwed something up so i just ran a fresh install.
The problem has come back after restarting, the only thing i did this time was install vmware - couldn't configure vmware so still not working. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it, i just thought i'd fill you in with some background info.
I've tried the suggestion from this thread: http://www.sabayonlinux.org/forum/viewt ... 7b4d70dc46
I've copied over my xorg.conf file from the liveDVD as suggested. I've ran accel-manager - selected aigxl (nvidia graphics using drivers that came with sabayon)
When i run bery-manager the error returned is:
- Code: Select all
XGL Absent, checking for NVIDIA
Nvidia Present
Relaunching beryl with __GL_YIELD="NOTHING"
XGL Absent, checking for NVIDIA
Nvidia Present
beryl: Another window manager is already running on screen: 0
beryl: No manageable screens found on display :0
The interface for the GUI Beryl Manager is different from when it was working and it says 0.1.4 - I'm sure i was running a different version when it was working.
So basically help!
