The Anaconda Installer

I am removing every stupid redhat stuff from anaconda
So, that's not a problem.

I did not mean to sugest adopting the kanotix installer. I was trying to point out that, at least in some circles, the kanotix hardware recognition is particularly well regarded. Thus, if you are looking to build a "best in class" installation capability, kanotix's hardware recognition might bear some investigation.

I only want something that works, that's easy to use and to understand, without any stupid configuration options and that does everything automatically = Sabayonized Anaconda

I am doing a lot of progresses, even if there is a lot of disabled redhat code but who cares for now ? it works!



Things to be scrubbed:
- Network configuration (a minimal network, hostname/domainname configuration) --> progress: 0%
- Primary User configuration (passwords and username) --> progress: 50%
- Porting of the complete dvdinstall.sh into anaconda code --> progress: 70%
- Upgrade option (I hope to work on something like that using quickpkg and emerge -K) but it might work only for the DVD edition, since we need the portage tree package shipped with the running Live system. Even if we could make them available. --> progress: 2%

There won't be any stage3 installation. Since the difference between a miniEdition installation and a stage3 one is very very limited.

no the artwork is my last problem
The biggest problem is getting rid of firstboot and kickstart.
For now, I have prepared a workaround for user passwords configuration. A future goal will be the use of firstboot, but for now, it's useless.

The amazing thing is that RAID software works like a charm in the partitioner
