On the HP, I have Win XP, and Ubuntu. I was having problems getting the ubuntu LiveCD working on it, so I used the alt CD to install. It won't boot int ubuntu! so I tried the Sabayon Live DVD, thinking that ubuntu wasn't detecting something right, and that SL would. It showed the boot menu, and when I chose to boot, it went to a black screen. So I looked around and can get the splash screen to load with acpi=off. Now, it freezes up on:
- Code: Select all
Letting udev process events...
[105.155172] udevd-event[4858]: run_program: '/lib/udev/udev_run_devd' abnormal exit
INIT: PANIC: application violation at 0xfffe420! sleeping for 30 seconds.
I waited, much longer than 30 seconds, and nothing happened. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

P.S. I am an almost complete linux noob, complete gentoo based noob, so please go easy on me and go step by step. Thanks!
