I have done a gentoo install by hand myself a couple years ago and omg yes I have been looking for the lazy way too!! This is a bonus tho, you end up with a much better system doing this way

Anaconda will hopefully be in the next RC2 release. Fabio is working his butt off on it though!

This "manual" way will give you the full dvd->hd install though, so its semi automatic and I call it the lazy man's manual install since you get the whole Sabayon Linux installed on your system So no having to manually configure all of your USE flags, etc.

i did not have any problems with the gentoo installer. (ok, there were some things i didn't know, but seem to have guessed it right )
i started with gparted. i left the space which should be used for linux as 'unallocated'.
then i told the gentoo installer to give a suggestion how it could make the partitions. (i don't remember how that button was called.) ...and then i let the gentoo installer create the partitions as it wanted to. everything worked fine. was i just lucky

Diddy, on some hard drives partition tables, it has no problem, but the gli partitioner sucks majorly and will break many a disk setup, mainly extended partitions. That's why we're overing an alternative manual way for dvd -> hd way until we can get the Sabayon linux flavored anaconda installer out
