I/O Error using kvm switch

Postby Fliggerty » Fri May 18, 2007 22:16

Hello,
First off, I'm fairly new to the world of Linux. I do like the idea of scrapping Windows though, if I could ever get there.
I have the newest distro of Sabayon x86. I am able to boot into the desktop just fine off of the live disc, but I cannot install it. I am trying to install this on my secondary system until I learn how to use everything. Both of my computers are attached to a kvm switch.
Whenever I attempt to install, the process asks me which keyboard I am using. I choose US English, then nothing happens for a long time; a matter of hours even. Then I have an error that says Input Output error. I can neither retry nor ignore. Both the keyboard and mouse work properly in the live evironment. Any tips or suggestions?

TIA!

Have you tried removing the KVM switch and connecting the keyboard and mouse directly to the PC, installing Sabayon Linux, then reconnecting the KVM switch?
