What can I say. Conroe seems reasonable in performance, but if I can get dual core 3800+ with 150$/120e, I can see no reason to switch to intel.

Exactly...AMD knows how to do dual core right, Intel is just trying to catch up with the times

Heeh..they know how to make single core too, I can run this chip (a64 3000+) at 2700mhz 24/7 if needed. That's fast enough, especially since most of the time my computer is cruising at reasonable energy saving speed of 1000mhz..

..there has been some disagreements about the Conroes superiority, here's one example:

Time will tell, how well the Conroe is going to perform. We all know already, Intel can't afford another Prescot, but to keep the competition running, I hope their latest will do well enough to keep AMD pushing their products quality and performance higher.

Not sure...I almost would put my money on another small startup who will try something so drastic that it will finally change the industry to the next stage. Not even sure AMD could pull that off right now. But I think Conroe is getting mixed results, coz its like big corps....they know who to push money too...but enough flaming of intel :-P Linux on intel is better than Windows on intel
