Let me just say I Love SL. It made me switch from my much loved Mepis 6. I never thought that would happen.
I Installed SL 3.25c on my machine and within a few weeks I emerged all the updates I use such as OOO 2.1, k3b, vlc and lots more....
I then downloaded the xdelta patches and created a SL 3.26 dvd.
I chose to do an upgrade, keeping my home directory.
One by one I saw SL uninstall all my program updates and install lower versions. I almost cried and spent the next two days having up update all my apps again!
Can there not be an installer option that doesn't downgrade programs that I've updated.
For example, if OOO 2.04 is on the SL dvd and it finds OOO 2.10 on the system, can it not just leave it there.
I'm not sure if the "six senth upgrade" does this as I'm not willing to tempt fate.
