We have a wiki-spammer with login Torke, I will try and remove his spam but some moderator needs to ban or block his ip and account.

Blocking a single IP or banning one account is not a good solution. You need a preemptive method. Forum spam is (largely) not posted by real people but by bots. Having a worthwhile forum is something that can make or break a Linux distro and you've got to keep the spam out. I've seen spam attacks elsewhere cause distinguished community members desert projects just because of spam. I'd rather not see this happen here as I believe SabayonLinux to be the best distro and it needs a forum to match. The spam must go.

Things to do:
1. Enable the email link activation option in phpBB. This has almost eradicated the spam attack on oooforum.org.
2. Use this mod to block some spam bot registrations:

I have a more powerful customised version that I'd be happy to share.
3. Enable a posting verification mod:

Again, I have a better version (thanks to a guy called Terry who I'm very grateful for his work) that I'd be happy to share but some of it needs to be kept non-public in case the spammers try to understand it.

I am seriously considering using a vampire on these spammers. Say what you will about fighting sleazy with sleazy. One of my sites got porned the other day:twisted:

I am deleting spam in these forums, but am wondering if there is a tool we can use to identify and delete spam users.
