Steam - libSDL2-2.0.so.0 is missing [Solved]

Steam updated today and I got following error message:

You are missing the following 32-bit libraries, and Steam may not run:
libSDL2-2.0.so.0

Now steam does not start anymore .

Does anyone has a solution?

Ps. I also noticed that since almost 2 weeks no new updates/upgrades were released, is this correct?

I see no library on my Sabayon box

You can build directly from a fresh clone of SDL 2.0.

Hope future developments won't be Linux is Ubuntu for Steam, and other distros will have to wait...

Hi, can't help re steam but there were no updates to weekly this past weekend.

Found the solution on Steam discussion:
Delete the file

~./steam/steam/package/beta

, this will opt you out of beta, and Steam will start up like it used to.

Btw, you can however remove yourself from beta branch, search for the option inside Steam settings.

Ok, I used Dolphin to search but forgot to enable hidden files.
It is located in: /home/yourusername/.local/share/Steam/package/beta

Will give it a try...

It did not work (btw I am not in steam beta)

what I did was removing clientregistry.blob in the steam folder and everything located in the folder /.local/share/Steam/package/

restarted steam and it works
