stopwatch and mint menu for Mate and Xfce

Postby k357k9 » Sun Feb 17, 2013 17:19

I have been testing S11 MATE & XFCE and am looking for some S/W similar to :

1) stopwatch : a simple timer program for tracking tasks. The best so far seems to be kapow, but it is overkill.

2) mint menu : a menu with favorites and a search bar that can be added to the standard menu.

I also noticed that MATE comes with a lot less S/W. Is there some reason for that?

I'm afraid I can't answer your questions but you will have more success with a more descriptive title.

Maybe you should choose a more … speaking heading like "stopwatch and mint menu for Mate and Xfce".

You can query alternativeto.net, but it's not DE-dependent.

@Ryuno-Ki
Danke.
That is a very nice site, but I think I am looking for something that doesn't exist.
And, I still burn CDs & DVDs, too. :lol:

There's a stopwatch plugin for Xfce, but not in entropy or portage :-( However, the last release is four years old.
You may want to specify, what features do you expect.

Another attempt concerning 2):
You can customize your menu in Xfce. A LXMenuEditor build from from 15th May 2012 is in the repos.
Linelight is a search bar plugin. You'll find v0.1.7 in the repos.

Note: I assume you want programs for Mate or Xfce.
