Update/upgrade errors

Hi Folks,

Can anybody help me with this problem. Neither Rigo, Sulfur nor equo can access any of the Sabayon mirrors. I cannot update my system, upgrade it or install any packages. Emerge still appears to work, but I don't believe it will allow me upgrade Sabayon.

I have run the following to test communication with mirrors:

equo repo mirrorsort sabayonlinux.org

This executes properly and communicates with mirrors, so problem is not hardware, or drivers, it must lie within my system. The only alternative I can consider at the moment is installation of Sabayon 11 but I want to avoid that as it would entail a lot of work restoring my system to how it is now, I am running Sabayon 10, kernel 3.4.0. I have run all code as root.

Below is a sample of the output I receive when I try to update using equo, similar output when I attempt upgrade.

Tried that, no joy. Tried everything I know, and did not know (from equo man page) but everything has failed.

Hi Folks,

As a matter of interest, something I haven't tried, If I was to use

equo repo enable <repository url>

would this work? Perhaps that syntax is wrong, but I will try anything now.

I know it will update the repositories profile only, but it may kickstart upgrade.

Just back at my errant machine. Tried that last code - equo repo enable - still nothing. Looks like I will have to go down the re-install route.

Have you tried to reinstall entropy and equo using portage and then update?
And do you have limbo, main and weekly enabled at the same time?

Sorry for not replying before now. Yes, I have tried reinstalling equo/rigo/sulphur using portage. They reinstalled successfully, but all the applications/utilities failed to launch an update or upgrade.

Rename file containing list of stable/standard repos

Create empty /etc/entropy/repositories.conf.d/entropy_sabayonlinux.org then paste into it this (source)

Tried that. The mirrors are pinged and sorted as they should be, but still no joy updating or upgrading.
