Sabayon 64 - screen goes black after install

Postby agany » Mon Feb 11, 2013 21:38

I've installed Sabayon 64 Gnome on a Toshiba Satellite A350. When I reboot the system after the installation the screen turns black and nothing happens after that.

Here's Hardware list:
Toshiba A350-22E
Intel Centrino Dual Core 2,66Ghz T9550
ATI Radeon Mobility HD 3650
SATA 500Gb
4 Gb DDR2

Can somebody help me?

Cheers.

This problem is more than likely caused by support isues with your ATI Radeon Mobility HD 3650.

These are the drivers you should be using for the card you have if you want to go with fglrx as opposed to radeon.

Code: Select all
x11-drivers/ati-drivers-12.6_beta_pre897

If you can get to a terminal:

Code: Select all
ctrl-alt-F1

and do a search with equo:

Code: Select all
equo search ati-drivers

you will find them. They are available for kernel versions < 3.7.0.

...so check what kernel version you have

Code: Select all
uname -r or eselect kernel list

you may have to downgrade your kernel and then install the pre 897 ati-drivers drivers to get going.
