When Gnome 3 went prime time, I thought it was pretty useless until I located the right combination of extensions to make it productive for me. Now I am wondering what I am going to do with it. I can't get anything done in the usual way, with Nautilus being the worst part of the problem. What if I want to launch a program? Switch to Activities, and mouse down to the little Icon with 9 squares? I have not figured out how to transfer that Icon to my desktop (if that is possible). "The user experience in GNOME 3 is unacceptable" is the kindest thing Tovalds said about Gnome 3. If I repeat his other comments, the moderators will lock me out. So I guess I will backup everything again, and install MATE. Thanks to the Developers for looking after us, and giving us options. KDE is not a great option for me, I just never liked how it worked. I think soon, someone will fork Gnome 3 and make it sensible again.
