We seem to be going round in circles here. There is a question that should have been asked to start with; What version of Sabayon Linux are you using? Also; Can you give some details about your hardware and have you been able to locate and run rigo from the programme menu?

The main question though is still; What exactly where you doing when you got the latest error messages?

Please ignore the question about your hardware - I've just noticed that you did post it :oops:

Thank you again

I am afraid that I have become rather dissolutioned with Sabayon (8) and have never been able to run Rigo from the programme menu. I am beginning to wonder if the DVD I used to install this "flavour " may have not been up to mustard. So thank you and Ryuno-ki for the help you have been given but think I will try something else instead.

Feel free to do so, but I would like to clear up something.

You were instructed to paste the following into an editor:

Code: Select all
[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=Entropy Store
Comment=Install Sabayon Applications
Categories=Application;System;Settings
Icon=/usr/share/rigo/icons/repo.svg
Exec=rigo
Type=Application
Terminal=false
MimeType=application/entropy-package;application/entropy-webinstall
InitialPreference=100
GenericName=

Instead, you pasted that into a terminal.

You should have done something like open up gedit or kwrite and pasted that and saved it as rigo.desktop.

That said, you shouldn't have needed to do any of this as it should have all been done for you. If you are using KDE, you should be able to locate rigo in the menu and open it from there. If you want a desktop icon, find it in the menu and drag it to the desktop. It's that easy. I don't use gnome, so I don't know the simple way it should be working there.

That said, in your original post you said that you deleted Sulfur
I had used the terminal to delete Sulfur

If that really is what you did, than you probably just need to reinstall sulfur.

Code: Select all
su
<enter root password>
equo update && equo install sulfur
