M-Audio Transit / madfuload stopped working with Kernel >3.4

Postby sharkus » Wed Jan 09, 2013 14:28

After upgrading to Kernel 3.7 my USB-soundcard doesn't seem to be recognized anymore. It is an old M-Audio Transit. I recompiled the firmware loader
Code: Select all
media-sound/madfuload

from portage but it still doesn't work. I didn't make any changes in alsa.conf or elsewhere. When I switch to the older kernel it works like charm.

After connecting it, /var/log/messages outputs:
Code: Select all
Jan  9 14:17:58 interzone kernel: [21766.469080] usb 7-1: new full-speed USB device number 5 using uhci_hcd
Jan  9 14:17:58 interzone kernel: [21766.612867] usb 7-1: New USB device found, idVendor=0763, idProduct=2806
Jan  9 14:17:58 interzone kernel: [21766.612874] usb 7-1: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0
Jan  9 14:17:58 interzone kernel: [21766.612879] usb 7-1: Product: Unknown
Jan  9 14:17:58 interzone kernel: [21766.612884] usb 7-1: Manufacturer: Unknown
Jan  9 14:17:58 interzone madfuload: --device not given, and DEVICE not set

Is anyone else here using a soundcard with the madfuload firmware loader or has some tips for solving the problem?
