No Kwin effects with nvidia after last update [Solved]

Strange problem here. I no longer can enable Kwin effects after the latest round of updates and am wondering if anyone can lend a hand troubleshooting.

I have the nvidia driver installed correctly, however, I notice when I type eselect opengl list

If I then try to eselect nvidia, the following error message appears. I'm sure this is what's causing the problem but don't know how to figure out how to correct the missing file:

Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this? Thanks!

The file libGL.so shoul be provided by the package x11-drivers/nvidia-userspace. Did you try to reinstall it?

Well my friend, that seemed to solve it. I'm not sure how nvidia-userspace became messed up. I ended up doing a...

cmost@cmost ~ $ sudo equo install nvidia-drivers nvidia-userspace nvidia-settings


...which solved the problem for the current session. But, when I rebooted this morning, desktop effects weren't working again. I logged out and went to tty1 and issed:

cmost@cmost ~ $ sudo equo update && equo upgrade


A nvidia cfg file was flagged for update via equo conf update and so far, effects are working! Let's keep our fingers crossed for my next reboot.
