Errors running Steam

Hello, all.

I installed steam-meta, then as my user acct ran steam, it updated, yay.

Now, when I run steam, it gives me a garbled window and the terminal reports errors whenever I move my mouse in its window.

I have a ATI 4870, and am using the x11 drivers on kernel 3.7.

Any pointers?

it's working fine for me but i've got an nvidia card.
looks like a driver issue. what about catalyst/fglrx?

I have an ATI HD 4550, I had the same problem with steam (it's a problem with the drivers).
I fixed following this post:

It seems that new catalyst driver 13.1 have solved this problem. Can't test it as i'm on nvidia.
