Computer freezes when downloading large files [Solved]

Postby woody3883 » Wed Jan 02, 2013 11:01

Since 2 days my computer freezes when I'm downloading files from newsservers. I have an AMD 6 core processor and some cores go up to 100% and I can't work anymore on my computer. Or I have to wait a long time before I can give a command.
Anyone an idea?

Which logfiles shall I look for. When everything goes wrong I go to tty12 to see what happens, but there is nothing there that explains it.
However when I start a program in a terminal it gives the next messages:

QDBusConnection: session D-Bus connection created before QCoreApplication. Application may misbehave.
QDBusConnection: session D-Bus connection created before QCoreApplication. Application may misbehave.
Fontconfig error: Cannot load config file "infinality/conf.d"
QSystemTrayIcon::setVisible: No Icon set

But in some forums is said that it harmless.

When the download begins it starts with full speed, but after about 1 minute the speed drops dramatically, but keeps downloading at a very low speed, but I can't use the computer anymore.

Thanks anyway for your help, I like sabayon very much, and it always works very well for me.

Well I guess my problem is over. Even in windows was my computer very slow, so it probably was the hardware that causes the problem. I took a memory module out and put back. After that the problems seems to be over.
