Issue with Sabayon 10 XFCE 64 bit installer

So i booted the live CD, checked that my hardware was ok, the graphic driver was nvidia and hdma intel sound worked fine.

So i launched the instalation from the graphical session. It failed almost immediatly, the error message complaiend about the nvidia driver that apparently cannot be used during the instalation.

So i rebooted and asked for the text instalation.

Then i reahced the partitionning step, i was given no chance to partition myslef our to affect the partitions myself.
I had 3 choices : use all the disk, replace an existing linux system (which one ??) or use free space.

I have a linux mint system (that i want to keep till sabayon works), 2 paritions with lot of data (music, photos etc ..)
and one free parititon that contained ubuntu.

So i rebooted again and erased the ubuntu partition , turning it into free space.,

I rebooted and started the text mode installer, at the partition step i asked to use free space (60Gigas)
and the script told me that not enough space was available.


How is it that unlike 100% of the distribution we are not given the possibility to affect the disk space as we want ?

Do I use the wrong installer ?

lxnay, when you at last block text installator for god sake. It's normal, that ppl with graphical problem try to use text installation mode.
Block this, erase this, don't give a chance to use this or use proper working text installator pls.
Why USB live session often is working ok, but when you whant install to hard drive, graphical enviroment is not starting, because of wrong driver.
Maybe it's time to work on to improve installation process?

Do you think that i can boot in graphical mode and pass another driver as an option, as example
the robust vesa driver ?

I may check the wiki and look.

yes, you could take another graphical driver when you start live session in console. Try vesa driver.
