Fail to install Sabayon 10 as dual boot [Solved]

Postby randqm » Mon Dec 17, 2012 18:00

I have been using Linux for a while as virtual machines, and when I tried Sabayon 10 I was instantly sold.
I want to install Sabayon 10 as dual boot on my physical computer with windows 7.
I first tried it in a virtual machine which went smoothly but on my physical computer it doesn't work at all.

- I created a new partition.
- Burned Sabayon 10 to a disk.
- Changed the bios to startup via the disk.
I get a black screen with the blinking underscore for like 15 seconds and then It just boots windows from my HDD.

Any thoughts? I don't think I've done anything wrong since I managed to do it successfully on my virtual machine.

EDIT: After I few times it magically worked, no clue why it didn't for the first few times but whatever, main thing is that it did.

I"m glad it worked for you! I would guess that your hardware had trouble reading the disc for some reason, but who knows. I just added a Win7 partition to a friends computer so this post title caught my eye.
