So I was thinking, after modifying some conf files, that i would try and remove entropy. I don't use it, never have, don't wish too, that type of thing. Thinking about it i find myself remembering when i hacked unity out of ubuntu a while back when i first started using linux. I can say i know a good bit more then i did but I'd rather not spend all night fixing things. I was thinking, i booted and installed fresh as my media is all on an external backup anyway, that since i'v not synced anything yet it might not be so bad. I'll most likely remove or at least the sabayon only packages from the overlay and edit my make.conf, profile, among others. Then recompile the kernel, and or if thats a bad idea maybe use debian sources? Just occured to me that might not be a bad idea. Either way ill just backup anything important and manually configure it or genkernel if that fails, and or just recompile the sabayon kernel. I'll also remove any other bloat i do not use. In the end i'm wondering, would this work for one, as i said i would like to keep the overlay yet remove sabayon only binary. would and or should i bother a -uavDN world? or possibly just emerge system? and if i do update world any suggestions? -- This is all kinda practice for me and i would like to manage *most* of my config files, some ill save backups off because i'm sure to fail along the way. Basically looking to manually configure and optimize my sabayon without having my hand held and see what happens, but obviously i could use some advice if anyone has any. Oh and yes, i do indeed have gentoo installed on my laptop, I'v compiled it several times this last month but i'm getting hung up with xorg and my networking. As i said i'm fairly new to linux. Any help would be welcome, and I thank you in advance either way. cheers
PS: Almost forgot. Reason I posted this here is that I'm wondering if removing entropy will ruin my system etc.. and all that fun stuff.
