Hallo together ... finally I've got a new fine working Grub2... I will mark it as [Solved].
To answer yor question, Sabayonino, I created my last grub.cfg with the Sabayon partition as root partition.
This was possible to enter after I entered /dev/sda7 as root partition, when I received the error:
'Can' find block device .'
And... It is NOT possible to have access to SL partition, when I renew the Grub from Ubuntu partition.
Btw. Chakra is completely obsolete.
So, the solution was to boot SL X partition with Kernel 3.5, which I could do because I had a backup of an old working grub.cfg. And then I needed to REINSTALL GRUB2 with Rigo.
That was the condition, which seems to clean my /etc/default/grub, I assume.
Finally then I did:
- Code: Select all
grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg
But, though I've a new working grub2, I still have the problem to make start KDE (xdm) with Kernel 3.6 because of a missing consolekit, which is not installed in 3.6. I don't know why...
Anyway, thank you for your help. The excurses (links) to understand and install the Grub2 may be interesting, but I'm honest, too much confusing. So, I'm glad that a clean Reinstall of Grub 2.00 solved my problem.
