Only older installations seem to be affected by this, chromium tries to use this lib because it found this one.

The problem is that if you remove and rotate a "equo deptest" it installs it again

Code: Select all
tales@neit ~ $ chromium-browser
chromium-browser: error while loading shared libraries: libjpeg.so.8: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Did you install media-libs/libjpeg-turbo? Or even better, virtual/jpeg?

May I suggest the above to avoid removing half your system along with it? ;)

Installing virtual jpeg did not solve the issue for me, but installing libjpeg-turbo did, however it showed some remarks about a collision found ... do not know what that means or something else should be done.

Code: Select all
equo install libjpeg-turbo

I was a firefox fan but now switched to chromium. It is relatively stable, with one exception:
before a month it would crash whenever I tried to open history or bookmarks. With the new ypgrade the problem is solved.
