Sabayon ? [Solved]

I do have Rigo package installer. i can't find a start menu on the desktop. I got to the chrominium browser by using live
help. Thats how i got here.

We can't help much without knowing what you installed, if you don't know your desktop environment at least tell us the filename of the iso you downloaded.

Most desktop environments can bring up a dialog for command execution if you press Alt+F2 and xterm is almost universally provided in any X environment, thus try pressing Alt+F2 and type:

Code: Select all

xterm

then press enter.

In the (basic) console application that pops up type:

Code: Select all

cat /etc/sabayon-edition

The package i downloaded was Sabayon_Linux_10_X86_G.iso

An update here. I believe I have something very buggy with what i downloaded as now i can only get desktop background, red X icon looks like monitors, not much else. I have to force shutdown by holding the power
button. So i will wait until my live CD arrives before i do any more here with Sabayon.
Thanks to everyone for your help, i will be back when i am up and running again. Now to find out how to
mark this thread as solved or whatever you call it in this forum.
