I am running Sab 9. It works great as long as you do your updates at the CLI. Is there any reason to upgrade to 10? Why? It is very risky? I have noted that 9 has VERY up to date software and it is stable.
Thasks.
PS I just started Sab with Sab 9 coming from Kubuntu. Kubutu was great but these days it crashes more than XP ever did. I sad day for Ubuntu. On the other hand Sab 9 is the most stable system I have ever used. On the other hand the problems I did face were KILL HARD to fix but I was luckily advanced enough to solve the problems. (updates have dropped out my graphics driver, messed up Grub and done other really bad things. Luckily in each case it was easy to fix as an advanced user but I would never with these problems on a newbie.) I wish Sab would become good enough to give to my mother. I would do it in a heart beat if she lived close enough for me to drive to her house and fix the problems for her but it is a 11 hour flight now and I would hate to try and solve these types of problems over the phone. You guys are SOOOO CLOSE to making the perfect newbie dist!!!
