Has anyone got a Gentoo/Sabayon style .zshrc file?

Postby Avanesov » Mon Nov 05, 2012 15:53

Im trying to locate a .zshrc file that will yield the same prompt/coloring as the default bash. Has anyone already made one, or is there a tool to convert an existing bash configuration file to the .zshrc?

Thanks for the links. If nobody has a solid answer to my original question then I see a bit of cross referancing from bash to zsh in the near future.......was hoping to avoid that. ::)

Hey Sabayonino, I have both zsh and zsh-completion installed....no problem there. What I was after was a .zshrc configuration file that gave the same prompt format and color coding used in Sabayon's default bash configuration.

EDIT: Sorry for repeating myself....I diddnt check up-post and thought you were a new/different poster. lol

I installed zsh and see :
Code: Select all
If you want to enable Portage completions and Gentoo prompt,
 * emerge app-shells/zsh-completion and add
 *      autoload -U compinit promptinit
 *      compinit
 *      promptinit; prompt gentoo
 * to your ~/.zshrc
 *
 * Also, if you want to enable cache for the completions, add
 *      zstyle ':completion::complete:*' use-cache 1
 * to your ~/.zshrc
