I used the LXDE Daily .iso as it's already stripped down (more so than the others) and I don't need an ethernet connection like Core CDX does to start from scratch.

THanks gentoovortex

Sabayon X Xfce4 64bit Rocks!!

Image

This started as an Sabayon X Gnome3 iso.
I disliked the Gnome 3 Interface/Desktop so much so that I installed a new Primary DE Xfce4..
Now it purrs!

Modified the Above Desktop to a level of my own personal taste/satisfaction.
Added LogOff Buttons in Panel... Top Right.
Tilda terminal in transparent mode ..Bottom Right
Remote File Systems panel Mount.... Top Left..
Tweaked Firewall and Samba
Added all my Dev tools for Java - Python and C++
Thunderbird .. Adobe Reader..RadioTray
Now I am comfortable.. :D

pypanel, i dont like that theres no right click menu when right clicking iconified windows.

openbox theme: Turquise Nights OB II i think
GTK is Equinox Evolution Midnight, i changed text_color to black and base_color to white (in ~/.themes/{theme}/gtkrc) because youd get white on white in firefox and reverse libre office colours which was icky

i like gnome-terminal because it lets me resize it with the mouse from the bottom right corner

I started with the KDE spin, my /var got toasted right after installing LXDE and kicking my computer tower... so i used that as an excuse to figure out full disk encryption and try the MATE spin the next time around. Mate was faster but I heard about openbox and once i got it figured out after a passive week of tweaking, i burned down MATE, now were here.

PS do you think crunchbang is faster than sabayon, i mean i have terrible hardware and want the lightest weight I can get with full functionality.

witch square brackets, is how you resize a pic and have it link to the big copy

^ Good Looking Background/Wallpaper.
You might want to shrink it down a bit in GIMP so we can see the whole screen.
Plus it takes more band width..
GIMP
File > Open ..the image
Image > Scale to 625x351
File > Export and save as a png type file extension
