I can try to understand your prbs. be patient
please paste Debian grub.cfg and Sabayon Grub.cfg
Maybe Debian doesn't see sabayon grub.cfg properly

Well. My custom menu entry works fine for booting into Sabayon. I'll just stay with using that, instead of trying to use a chainloader entry, until I get this figured out.
This is the only grub2-related problem I've had on my computers, but this is the first time I've copied a distro to another set of partitions with grub2 being involved. I've done it lots of times under grub-legacy; different situation, though.
