Wireless enabled disables user login

Postby vastesi » Tue Oct 23, 2012 17:00

First-time poster, so my apologies if this is the wrong part of the forum for this post.

Computer: HP DV6-1245DX
Wireless: Broadcom 4312
Sabayon Release: 10

I upgraded my kernel from 3.5.0 to 3.6.0 using the instructions found in:
http://wiki.sabayonlinux.org/index.php? ... ng_Entropy

Upon reboot, the wireless did not work - which has happened before with other kernel upgrades, so I ran "equo install --ask broadcom-sta#3.6.0-sabayon" - as I have done similarly after other kernel upgrades; however, this time, when I rebooted, everything proceeded as expected until just before the user login screen should appear, where it hangs with the Sabayon blue screen with "sabayon" centered along the bottom.

I thought it might be something to do with "equo install --ask", so I removed the 3.6.0 kernel using "equo remove", performed the upgrade, and used "equo install --ask" to resolve other issues (e.g., ndiswrapper) and then rebooted successfully. However, each time I do this for broadcom-sta, whether separately or in a group with the others (e.g., ndiswrapper) the same problem occurs.

Any ideas?
