LibreOffice can't start in KDE and Gnome [Solved]

Postby hatalar205 » Mon Oct 15, 2012 23:27

I have installed at first SL 10 Gnome. At first eveything worked perfect. I installed Turkish language pack for LibreOffice. It worked well. But after 2 or 3 times reboot, LibreOffice can't work anymore. It tried to load but it can't.
So I thought this was just a bug familiar with Gnome. And I installed SL KDE. As happened in the Gnome, everything worked perfect. I installed Turkish language pack. I checked that it worked without any problem. So I create desktop chort-cut entries for LibreOffice Writer, Calc and Impress. When I click the LibreOffice Writer short-cut entry file, the same thing happened as happened in Gnome. I rebooted a few times but no success.

I am not sure but I think the problem causes by the short-cut desktop entries. In Gnome it began to not work after I added Libreoffice to Gnome-Shell Dash, and also the problem began to appear in KDE when I added short-cut entries on the desktop.

My Hardware
Processor: Intel Core i7 2630QM
Video Card: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 6570

Thanks in advance.

Does starting the program via another method work just fine?

What terminal output do you get (if any) when starting it via a terminal?

LibreOffice gives no output:
Code: Select all
hb205@hb205-sab ~ $ libreoffice
hb205@hb205-sab ~ $

LibreOffice --writer gives no output:
Code: Select all
hb205@hb205-sab ~ $ libreoffice --writer
hb205@hb205-sab ~ $

LibreOffice --help gives this one:
Code: Select all
hb205@hb205-sab ~ $ libreoffice --help
/usr/bin/libreoffice: line 166: 11236 Segmentation fault   "$sd_prog/soffice.bin" --help
hb205@hb205-sab ~ $

I need LibreOffice so much, so I take risk and enabled testing repos. I upgrade to LibreOffice 6.2.2 and works well now.
