System Upgrade Wrong Checksum messages. [Solved]

Postby dirigible » Wed Oct 17, 2012 14:04

I've got a fresh install of Sabayon 10 64bit.
It won't update properly.
Code: Select all
>>  (58/338) :: Application download
>>    ## Package checksum matches: kde-base:libkexiv2-4.9.2~0.tbz2
>>    ## Package checksum matches: kde-base:marble-4.9.2~0.tbz2
>>    ## Package checksum matches: app-i18n:ibus-1.4.2~0.tbz2
>>  (59/338) :: Application download
>>    ## Checksum does not match. Download attempt #1
>>    ## ( mirror #1 ) Downloading from: http://na.mirror.garr.it
>>    ## ( mirror #1 ) Error downloading from: http://na.mirror.garr.it - wrong checksum.
>>    ## ( mirror #2 ) Downloading from: http://cross-lfs.sabayonlinux.org
>>    ## ( mirror #2 ) Error downloading from: http://cross-lfs.sabayonlinux.org - wrong checksum.
>>    ## ( mirror #3 ) Downloading from: http://mirror.clarkson.edu
>>    ## ( mirror #3 ) Error downloading from: http://mirror.clarkson.edu - not found.
>>    ## ( mirror #4 ) Downloading from: http://mirror.umd.edu
>>    ## ( mirror #4 ) Error downloading from: http://mirror.umd.edu - wrong checksum.
>>    ## ( mirror #5 ) Downloading from: http://sabayon.c3sl.ufpr.br
>>    ## ( mirror #5 ) Error downloading from: http://sabayon.c3sl.ufpr.br - wrong checksum.
>>    ## ( mirror #6 ) Downloading from: http://mirror.yandex.ru
>>    ## ( mirror #6 ) Error downloading from: http://mirror.yandex.ru - wrong checksum.
and on and on it goes...
How can I fix this?

This problem hits me too, even after many
Code: Select all
# equo update --force && equo upgrade

typed on console as root. :cry:
Any other suggestion? (affected package seems to be kdebase:kdeplasma-addons-4.9.2~1.tbz2).

P.S. This happens on sabayon-weekly repositories.

same problem here, can't upgrade due to missing files on mirrors or invalid checksums of many of the KDE packages. my system is not a fresh installation, it seems to be a problem with the mirrors.

[edit] for me it would always hang on kde-base/marble, kde-base/kiriki and plasma-workspace with incorrect checksum. i've now removed those packages and did a "equo install $package" again and here it worked?? it said that the checksum is now correct as opposed to the "equo upgrade" command. maybe it helps for you too if you are able to remove the offended package first and then reinstall it.

Good thinking. I removed kde-base/kdeplasma-addons and that allowed the other 150 packages to upgrade. However, if I try to reinstall kde-base/kdeplasma-addons I still get the checksum error, so I guess there might actually be something wrong with that package.

i also had troubles with the kdeplasma-addon package. it worked fine after i downloaded the file kde-base:kdeplasma-addons-4.9.2~1.tbz2 manually from the limbo repository from http://ftp.belnet.be/mirror/sabayonlinux/entropy/standard/sabayon-limbo/packages/ (although i'm on weekly) *hth*

The problem will be investigated, and most likely resolved, later today.

Working now. However, is there a way to update from 9 to 10 using the DVD?

I tried booting from the v10 DVD but it offers either a fresh install or a re-install of the bootloader.

Thanks.
