@Stupod: Thanks for verifying this. Yeah, I also thought that this might reflect the "system" packages installed by the Live CD (CoreCDX in my case). Actually that's what I did, installed it into a VM and then just put my packages into a loooong list to install KDE and various other stuff afterwards. Hence my original question: I was looking for a way to extract all my manually installed stuff for future migration to other systems.

such as the net-wireless stuff

It has been pulled in by the wireless set. Most spins explicitly install this when they are created.
So it is valid.

How do some packages end up in the world file, eventhough YOU never installed it yourself?

Look here:
http://git.sabayon.org/molecules.git/tr ... kde.common

This is the so called "spec" file Molecule™ uses to build our spins.

So in order to build the KDE spin, we take the Spinbase ISO, throw a list of packages on it (It really uses Entropy to physically install those packages THUS recorded to the "world" file.) and then it would pull some tricks and convert it to the Sabayon...K.iso file.

Ahh, now that makes sense.

So it still isn't exactly what is installed by the end user, rather the end user + spin base specific packages. That, unfortunately, doesn't really help out our buddy Martux with what he is looking for.

However, I don't think it should be all that hard to simply make a list of applications to install and have them all installed by entropy after a fresh install, assuming that list isn't constantly changing.

Yeah, that's what I am currently doing. Browsing once through that equo-given list. Well, right now I am having other severe installation issues, yet unsolved.
Thanks for clarifying this!
