how to get Xen working?

Postby kurokuon » Sun Oct 14, 2012 21:38

Hi, I made a fresh install of Sabayon 10 and installed the following packages:

xen
xen-tools
linux-xen-dom0
linux-xen-domU
xen-dom0-sources
xen-domU-sources

After the install it gave me a new selections at the Grub2 menu, but selecting them gives me :

error: Invalid magic number
error: you need to load the kernel first

Anyone know a way to get Xen working? Thanks!

sounds like you need to check the grub entry, paths are wrong

It doesn't work. I have everything installed on one partition to make things easier. But it gives the same error. Do I need to recompile the kernel? but I am using kernel-3.5 it supports xen already

This is the ouput of starting the xenstored service

have you looked at:
http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/XenCo ... 8d87b37752

I think google is gonna be your best answer, seems like a popular issue.

Make sure virtualization is turned on in BIOS too
