Mate not drawing icons correctly

Postby pissnaround » Wed Oct 10, 2012 12:32

I have Sabayon X installed from the MATE .iso. For whatever reason Mate doesn''t seem to be drawing the "Places" icons correctly. It's drawing generic folders instead. I've seen some other distros do the same thing and some draw them correctly.

any thoughts?

It's been a couple weeks since my post. Doesn't anyone have any idea what the problem might be?

thanks

the only errors in xsession listed...

(mateconf-gsettings-data-convert:9562): GLib-GIO-ERROR **: Settings schema 'org.mate.crypto.pgp' is not installed
** Message: couldn't communicate with already running daemon: Message did not receive a reply (timeout by message bus)

I have no idea if they're related or not.

as it turns out it seems, like with KDE, if you want an icon set to display it's folders with symbols you have to right click on each one at set it manually. not very convenient, especially if you change icon sets often. I don't know why this is the case with Sabayon but there you have it.
