Google Earth problem [Solved]

Postby misty3 » Wed Oct 03, 2012 9:12

After latest Sabayon update yesterday Google Earth now gives a black blank screen for a couple of minutes then posts a message "Google Earth is unable to contact the login server. Verify that you are connected etc" Tried removing and reloading and also several "fixes" from the net. No luck. Yesterday the globe appeared after closing the error message. Could move it around and zoom in but nothing loaded so the zoomed in image was out of focus. Today , (probably due to my fixes) after closing the error message, there is just a black blank screen. Any one else struck this, and if so has any one got a solution?

Solved....... There were two updates for Sabayon available today. Did not take a lot of notice but one was to do with Gnome and the other a Make program of some sort. Purely by chance I checked Google Earth and it worked perfectly as it has done for the last five years or so.

Sorry every one. That Google Earth worked after the latest daily upgrade was just a one off. A later try and the old problem was back. Any advice gratefully accepted.
