Having difficulty with VirtualBox

Postby deaconthevil » Fri Sep 28, 2012 21:16

Okay so, recently i have installed VirtualBox on my system and when i go to start up my machine i get this error message

Failed to open a session for the virtual machine Vector. The virtual machine 'Vector' has terminated unexpectedly during startup with exit code 1.

Result Code: NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005)
Component: Machine
Interface: IMachine {5eaa9319-62fc-4b0a-843c-0cb1940f8a91}

also another error message occurs

WARNING: The VirtualBox kernel modules are not loaded.
Please load all the needed kernel modules by:

for m in vbox{drv, netadp, netflt}; do modprobe $m; done

You will not be able to start VMs until this problem is fixed.
Qt WARNING: QPixmap::handle(): Pixmap is not an X11 class pixmap

That is the error message when i run VirtualBox in the Terminal

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thank you for your time :D

no need to uninstall.
just follow / repeat the steps exactly as described on the wiki page.
Also notice the warnings / cautions (question marks)
If you follow that, step by step, it basically CAN'T go wrong......
*note
When you come to the part to add yourself to the vboxusers group:
usermod -a -G vboxusers YOUR_USER_NAME
it also can be done with:
gpasswd -a YOUR_USER_NAME vboxusers
It works either way.
Please follow/read 'till the end.....
