I have also tested with 3.4 kernel. Same result.

Only stable kernel is 3.1

Can you guys point me out the difference that makes KWin so unstable on 3.5 and 3.4 kernels?

Thanks.

I have all the latest MESA/OpenGL Intel drivers and latest X.

I think you're getting no response because those that frequent the forums aren't having the same issue you are having. I know I'm not. Kwin is working great on my box at home with the latest kernel, but I don't have an intel graphics cards.

I don't have any intel cards, so it's hard for me to provide support. If the driver is working for the 3.1 kernel, it seems as though it should be correctly working for all the kernels (unlike how the proprietary drivers work). You could try installing x86-video-intel again, just to be doubly safe.

^Perhaps you need to publicise more the other members of the development team. List the names of all the development team and their roles in a fairly large font on the Home Page, perhaps?

i am going to try but i think its not going to work coz its not a kernel module.

Something wrong with the kernel i am sure (3.1.0 works perfect on KWin , 3.4.0 = half of 3.1.0 framerate , 3.5.0 = worst framerate)

if anyone have this problem with KWin compositing performance drop on Intel cards , on latest kernels pls share. or may be i need a different topic?

My whole office use sabayon. We are server-side development team. My server, (Quad Quadcore Xeons, 48 GB Ram ) runs sabayon too , smoothly , and sabayon desktop on all our developer's machines (all are intel graphic cards).

So Sabayon is important for us ofcoz , as well as support for Sabayon is. So thats make us worry about sabayon becoming less active.

Do all of those kernels have the same boot parameters? Also, I think KMS is enabled by default in the recent kernels.
