KDE4 - Clock always two hours in advance.

Postby desputin » Sun Sep 23, 2012 22:05

Hello,

by now I think this is a general KDE-Bug: Even though I put in the right time zone (Berlin) during the installation. The time always switches to two hours in advance. If it's 12:00 it Shows 14:00. This is VERY anoying and I have no Idea how such a BAD BUG can still be in KDE - almost 5...

Could anyone here help me to fix the problem? That would be really nice!

best regards

uhm ... you can try set /etc/conf.d/hwclock config file

I suppose that CLOCK variable is set to "UTC".

set

CLOCK="local"

reboot.

^Please only post in English in the English-language forums, linuxfluesterer.

Google Translate gives:

I had the same problem with different installations.
In my opinion should (must?) the hardware clock to be (always) UTC and the install is "Berlin" is specified.
The hardware clock, you can press F2 at boot change. The Time (Berlin) if you can not happen when you install still set in the Console to UTC +2.
That being said, there are (in KDE anyway) a setting that the time is updated from the Internet and is written back on shutdown in the hardware clock ...
Try it out ....

desputin, have you applied the procedure given in the SL Wiki article HOWTO: Clock, Time, UTC, Dual boot with Windows (ignore the mention of dual booting and Windows, the article applies irrespective of whether or not you dual boot)? If you have not tried it yet, follow it precisely and it should hopefully resolve the problem.
