History of Sabayon?

Postby sdi » Thu Sep 20, 2012 17:37

Morning all, I am new here.
Been playing around a bit for the last couple days with Mate, KDE, and Xfce versions, not really thrilled with those DEs.

Gnome 2 lover here... Is there an older Gnome 2 version available? Or maybe Mate is in rapid development and I could use that in the future.

Thanks! Peter

Nobody is maintaining gnome2 here, and I don't think anybody is even attempting to maintain it anywhere.

All gnome2 hope has pretty much been transfered to MATE.

Thanks, Understood.
Gnome 2 as of early 2011 is fine, and I don't need any "maintenance" mods for now... and I suppose Mate in Sabayon will mature to the state it is in now in Mint13... I can hop to Mate then, but now it is very limited.

I guess what I should have said is:
where can I find a Sabayon Gnome ISO that predates the 2011 change to Groan 3?

You'd have to find a Sabayon 6 iso for gnome 2.x that is no longer supported. We don't keep old isos so you'd have to find some odd ball site that maybe hosted it for some odd reason.
