switch from kde to gnome - safe way? [Solved]

Postby fjkhf » Fri Sep 07, 2012 9:48

Hello , i wanted to ask.
I have KDE installed and i want to install gnome too (or only gnome).

1) How to install gnome now?

2) Is it safe to have KDE and Gnome or its better to have one of them?Would i have any problems with upgrades ?(i use entropy)

Thank you!

To install gnome just do a:
Code: Select all
#equo install gnome

This is meta package which will pull in all the other gnome packages : http://packages.sabayon.org/show/gnome, ... 5,standard

As far as #2 goes, you should have no problems whatsoever, but you will have more to download and update. Lots of people have multiple DEs installed with no issues.
