I'm no Linux pro. But as far as I know the SSD will lose lifespan on writes, so if you're concerned about a long life for your SSD you shouldn't have partitions that gets written on so often.
I am surely no expert on how the file hierarchy is used so I'll better leave another person to that. However, my /boot partition weight a ridiculously 26.1 MB, I wound't bother my SSD disk with such nothingness.
