Guake not working

Postby chasha420 » Wed Aug 29, 2012 6:34

Sup guys...just now I had this problem where guake isn't working anymore. This is what I get:

Code: Select all
$ guake
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/bin/guake", line 1429, in <module>
    if not main():
  File "/usr/bin/guake", line 1373, in main
    instance = Guake()
  File "/usr/bin/guake", line 633, in __init__
    self.hotkeys = guake.globalhotkeys.GlobalHotkey()
SystemError: NULL result without error in PyObject_Call

Man this is the only terminal I use....pretty much for everything...and without it I feel like I'm handicapped :?

Any help? Please.

Thanks for your consolation....but I'm pretty sure software is something that needs to be robust and should't just break down like that. I wonder what could cause it to be like that...before it happened though my Openbox session crashed and I was logged out back to the login screen.

Anyway I really wanna know how to fix this.

Oh, I have the same issue.
Guake stopped working after last updates (about 5 days ago).
In my case python was upgraded so maybe this is the cause...
I have python-2.7.3-r2, guake-0.4.4, linux-sabayon-3.3-r4, 32bit, gnome 3

In the meantime I've installed tilda - it works pretty cool - just for the time when guake isn't working ;)

Wow dude I've done the same thing...installed Tilda and customised it etc. but one functionality that I'm missing from tilda is the open new tab bar :?

For that I have to manually open a screen session and navigate using the hotkeys which is reptitive and I think not as efficient as using the arrow keys in guake.

Anyway, anyone else has this same issue?
